Artist-printmaker-designer

I studied printmaking & jewellery and gained my degree in Liverpool. Currently I teach mixed media art at an adult education centre and have taught art in schools, I was a Head of an art department for almost 14 years in London. I have run workshops in print making, mixed media, batik and drawing and have worked with primary & secondary age pupils and adults. I have also been an assistant teacher on a digital textiles course for adults and supported adults with physical and learning needs.

I make, exhibit & sell prints (in a variety of media including lino cuts, monoprints and collographs) and mixed media collages. My inspiration derives from wide and varied sources including natural forms, my local area, the coastline of England and my travels abroad. I love colour, pattern and texture and this can be seen in my work. I am interested in the process of printmaking and love to experiment by layering & combining elements & techniques on one image, many images are unique or in limited editions due to this process and I sometimes cut up my lino or block out areas as well as using chine colle and collage techniques with my printing. I also love the process of collaging to create unique and interesting images with a variety of mixed media processes and collage papers, sometimes printing onto these too.

Using Photoshop and I have produced scarves, bags, cushions, mugs, coasters, table mats and other products, using my prints and other artwork as a starting point and playing with scale, colour & repeat for these designs.
